Bay View rethinks how buildings integrate with nature, providing healthy, sustainable places for people to do their best work. The campus totals 1.1 million square feet across three buildings and is one of Google’s most ambitious in terms of water stewardship and operating on carbon-free energy. Every detail, from the architectural structure to the art curated within the building, was carefully filtered through a user-first perspective. Intentional whimsy is expressed throughout the building, with the goal to spark curiosity and sustain productivity. This is manifested in a 44-foot-tall installation of giant wooden cubes painted to look like the Hyperion tree, an interactive, custom G-Bike installation that generates electricity and illuminates a colorful Google Dino, multi-story commissioned murals pointing to the local flora, fauna, wildlife, and much more. Our team worked efficiently and collaboratively to bring this building to life with art curation, environmental graphics, and experience design on an equally ambitious schedule.
